The Dirt Devils of Southern California
is proud to
participate in the San Bernardino National Forest Adopt-A-Trail Program! We have
adopted the 3N34 trail in Lake Arrowhead, CA. This trail is also known as Dishpan
Springs or Deep Creek Trail. We first adopted this trail in 1997, and continue
to this day. We spend countless hours on this trail doing trail maintenance! We
have a great relationship with the Forest Service, and enjoy working with them
to keep our trails open and clean! Follow along below as we highlight some of
our trail repairs and Adopt-A-Trail runs up there in the forest! Many of our
members are also involved in the OHV volunteer program in the San Bernardino
National Forest.

and Greg Hoffman from the Forest Service work on the sign at the top of the 3N34
trail. Dean is our club Adopt-A-Trail coordinator. Greg is charge of the OHV and
Adopt-A-Trail programs for the San Bernardino National Forest.

some trail repairs needed at our drivers meeting for our July 1999 club run on
3N34. Greg is always amazed at the turn out for our Adopt-A-Trail runs!

Here are
just a
"few" of the 35 vehicles and over 60 volunteers from our July 3rd, 1999 Adopt-A-Trail run on
3N34!
With signs placed at the top of
the trail, and the bottom, it is easy to see who maintains this trail! The Dirt
Devils Of Southern California take
great pride in our efforts here on the forest.

Merrill starts digging the hole for the bottom end of the trail. Early in 1999,
the Forest Service added a new "rough" section of trail before the T-6
crossing. This was added to cut down on the traffic and parking at the T-6
crossing. Also, cars and other low vehicles were driving down to the creek, then
would get stuck trying to get back out! Since they added the new sign quite a ways up from the
crossing, we will now maintain all the way up to the sign.
