On Saturday, March 11th, my 8 year old son Jeremy’s birthday, we left our
house at 5:30 p.m. and arrived at Circuit City / Toys R Us about 10 minutes
before 6:00 p.m. Some people had a small adventure when they realized getting
off before Hwy. 71 would have been best. Like all good 4-wheelers they got off
at the next off ramp and found the "trail-head". You know the old
saying, "Getting lost is half the fun!" We all headed out about 6:30
p.m. to A&W where we all had burgers, fries & root beer. O.K. some had
chilidogs or pork sandwiches, you know those adventurous types. We discovered
that soft doors on Wranglers are not compatible with drive-in food trays, but
our modern drive through know how got those folks through without a problem. The
kids had fun running up & down the server's path. The Family Fun Center gave
us a group discount and the group split up onto both 18-hole courses. A few of
the younger kids were playing miniature golf for the first time, as our kids did
last year on Dan’s Cruise Night. We all seemed to have fun golfing, and Walt
won a free game on the last hole. Thanks for giving me the free game coupon
Walt! It all finished up around 10:00 p.m., and we said our good-byes. Our kids
thought they would be able to play when they got home, yet by the time we got
home they were both asleep from all the fun. If you have never been on a Cruise
Night, this is what they are like. Plan on going on one, or have one yourself.
It’s a small amount of planning and a night out with a bunch of friends. Try
it - you’ll like it.
