Kids On Public Lands, A Jeep's Point of View

By Jesse's Blue XJ
(8-14-99)

I, Jeep (The Blue one) was ready to go after my owner put all of the family stuff in. I hit the road about 6:00 AM, with the Shrock's Jeep following. My stomach was filled with petrol, then I was driven over to the Delp's house to drop off the littlest owner (Eric). Now, I was on my way to Big Bear. On the way, the parade of Jeeps collected another Jeep (McCarthy) and we also heard in the distance the Junker's owner. Before getting to the Discovery Center, the Delp's Jeep needed to be filled with gas, so we stopped. Finally, we were on the road again, and we collected two more Jeeps (Strege's and Castron's).

I was paired up for the morning run. My owner showed me off with all the stuff on me, and in me. Now we were on the road heading for the lookout. When I hit the dirt road, my owner rolled the windows up so I wouldn't get to dirty inside. So up and back we went.

I wasn't paired up for the afternoon run. I heard that my owner wanted to do another trail run, but I just didn't want to. So I decided to drop some power steering fluid from my high pressure hose. Well, it took my owner and several other owners four hours to fix me (since no parts store nor dealer had any parts that would fit me). The dealer from Big Bear Chrysler Jeep Dodge did donate some hose parts because I did help with the KOPL program. I made it home without dropping a drop from the fixed part.
